No Snow at Mt. Snow

I had my first east coast skiing experience this weekend. Now, I have to say that my expectations for the snow were pretty low. The unfortunate thing is that the snow was even worse than I was expecting. Mt. Snow had only a thin cover (maybe a couple inches) over most of the runs, with large exposed areas. And the snow that was there was alternately complete mush or chunky and hard.

This is not to say that I didn’t have fun— it is always nice to be outside and feel the rush of air as you cruise down some groomer, but next time I’ll probably drive further north for better snow and less crowding.

My friend John sent me a link to a video of a magician. This guy is good. If I can find some of the other videos of him on jokaroo, I’ll post those too.

EDIT: I found a couple more, here and here. John is also a fan of this one.

Another attempt to change my handwriting

Lifehacker had a link to a page of handwriting tips. Last year I made the switch to a much better pen-holding grip, so maybe this is the next step. Apparently, I am supposed to be writing with my arm rather than with my fingers. Go figure. At the moment this technique has returned my handwriting to about 3rd grade level.

And now, here I am struggling to finish pset #2 which is due tomorrow. Grr…
